Paul Foley

Funeral Services for Paul M. Foley will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. with visitation 1:00 P.M. at the Emory Church of Christ, Hwy 69, in Emory, Texas.  Burial at a later date at the Colony Church of Christ Cemetery, on FM 779 in Rains County, TX

Paul was born September 10, 1942, in Graham, Texas to Charles Leon and Annie Sedalia McNamara Foley.  He died Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Sulphur Springs, Texas

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Foley; daughter, Dee Ann Chandanais (Bob) Lewisville, TX; sons, James Bryan (Ranae) of Emory, TX and Nathan Bryan (Lynn) of Anna, TX; grandchildren, Rae Bennett, Nicole Zamora (Michael), Zachary Bryan (Amanda), Natalie Bryan, Ian Bryan, Erin Bryan, Marissa Gagaliar, Ethan Jones, Caleb Jones, Noah Jones, Isaac Jones; great-grandchildren, Hayley Martinez and Aiden Zamora; sisters, Lillie Rowden and Teri Baker; sisters-In-Law, Dean Powell & Debra Jenkins; brother-In-Law David Jenkins; nieces and nephews, Linda & John Leonard, Tanda & Wayne Pettit, Spring & Wayne Shelton, Justin & Melissa Jenkins, Benjamin & Sarah Jenkins, Patricia & Craig Rasbury and many great nieces and nephews.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents; son, Chris A. Foley; brother, Lewis Foley; brother-in-law, Richard Jenkins.

He graduated from Abilene High school in 1961. Then started his family in 1967.  In 1996, he and Dorothy moved from Dallas to Rains County and spent the best years of their lives enjoying nature and the people of Rains County, especially their Church family at the Emory Church of Christ where Paul was one of the song leaders and long time Bible class teacher.  Paul was a Christian.

Retired Major in the U.S. Army National Guard, Director of property management in Dallas for 25 years, RISD School board trustee for 15 years, Rains County Justice of the Peace for 4 years.  Paul was involved in almost every organization in Rains County.

But his passion was children and young adults, he was there to coach or to cheer several generations on in their efforts of, education, drama, band and all sporting endeavors. He was a volunteer in the Avon Rice Relays and Special Olympics each year.

He will be greatly Missed
