John Carl George, age 91, of Emory passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 14, 2020.

Mr. George was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on June 12, 1928, to the parentage of Harmon and Mabel Hazelrigg George. During his working career Mr. George was employed with L-3 Communications in Greenville. He worked as an electronic specialist. He was able to see much of the world while employed there as they sent him to many different countries to work. He was also a cattleman for most of his life, and after retirement he was able to spend more time with his cows and horses. He was a true cowboy in every since of the word. He raised and trained race horses along with his cattle. He really liked those quarter horses. He loved the children and the grandchildren, then later the great-grandchildren. The farm, his horses and his cattle gave him much pleasure during his later years. He so enjoyed walking among his cows, feeding and haying them. He felt a peace and quietness, a closeness to the earth and nature, and mostly to his Lord, as he mingled through his herd.

Johnny learned a lifetime of days and hours from his Daddy...from caring for livestock, working ethics, and about the importance and necessity of having a real relationship with his Lord....the most valued and treasured part he needed to have with Jesus. Johnny was so proud of his Daddy...and, looked up to his Daddy....and, respected his Daddy as his hero.

John and Johnny were both baptized at County Line Baptist Church by William Potts
