Funeral service for Jesse Ballentine, age 38, of Emory, will be held at 2:00 p.m Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Daugherty Baptist Church with Joe Pierce and Dwayne Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Dougherty Cemetery with James Robert, Tommy Ballentine Jr, Brennan Hale, Spencer Wicks, Joseph McDonald, Trey Arnett, Will Sallee and Ray Sparks serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Jesse went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs.
Jesse was born on February 8, 1982 in Sulphur Springs, TX to Tommy Ballentine and Nina Sparks. He graduated from Miller Grove High School. Jesse was a loving father, husband, brother, son and friend. Jesse never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome wherever he went. Jesse loved his wife and children very much. He loved to take the kids fishing at his Uncle Donald’s place in Miller Grove. His wife was the love of his life. Jesse loved life and people. He always had a smile, a joke, a hug and kind word. Jesse surrendered his life to the Lord 5 years ago and spent much of his time talking with everyone who would listen to his testimony. He spoke in local churches and brought several messages at Daugherty where he was baptized and where he and his love were married a short time ago.
He is survived by his wife, Lesa; children, Sierra Dawn Ballentine, Lane Burns, Michelle Burns; parents, Nina Sallee and husband Ronald of Miller Grove, Tommy Ballentine and wife Michelle of Calera, OK; brothers and sisters, Will Sallee and wife Ashley of Miller Grove, Amanda Ballentine of Mount Pleasant, Becca Vancura and husband of Muskogee, OK, Tommy Don Ballentine Jr., Tyler Ballentine both of Lewsiton, Idaho, Samantha Petty of Omaha, NE, Krystal Arrington and husband of Commerce, Bethany Sinclair of Muskogee, OK, Jeremy McWilliams and wife of Wolfe City; grandparents, William and Bertha Sparks of Miller Grove, Sharon Ballentine of Oklahoma City, Fred and Patsy Robertson of Palestine, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins and a slew of friends.
