William C. Fleming, born on January 6, 1955, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, sadly passed away on April 28, 2025. He is remembered as a warm and friendly soul, whose open demeanor and passion for life made him a cherished figure in his community.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, William served his country during the Vietnam War where he served as a fireman and a mechanic. He was a jack of all trades, known for his remarkable ability to tackle any task thrown his way. Bill also took great pride in his work at Axtons, where he was dedicated and loved by his colleagues.
He found joy in fishing, singing, and tinkering with various projects, often channeling his creativity into building and making things with his hands. His love for classic country music resonated with him and he was an enthusiastic participant in karaoke at the VFW in Mineola. He became known for his warm spirit and his ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger in his many interactions.
Bill is survived by his fiancé, Tina Mask; brother, Robert Fleming Jr; sisters, Dixie Jones and Trixie McAdams; brother in law, Steve Sims; children, Kristina Fleming, Christopher Swogger, Odis Mask, Carl Horton; nieces and nephews, Tracy Fleming, Teresa Michalak and Robert Fleming III. He is also survived by his four-legged best friend, Tinkerbell.
William C. Fleming leaves behind a lasting impact through his warm friendships, passion for creativity, and dedication to his service. He will be missed and remembered by all who had the joy of knowing him.
