He will be remembered fondly as a man with an unyielding zest for life, whose character was as remarkable as his stories were legendary.
Bill’s journey began at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he majored in physical education and minored in mathematics. A standout athlete, Bill played both football and baseball, earning numerous awards. His teammates and friends remained close to his heart throughout his life; Bill had an extraordinary ability to remember all their names and stats, maintaining friendships that spanned decades.

Faith was a cornerstone of Bill’s life. He cherished attending church at Sweet Fellowship in Yantis, Texas, and was also a longtime member of City Temple in Granite City, Illinois. These communities were profoundly enriched by his presence, humor, and steadfast spirit.
Family was Bill’s deepest pride. He was known for being a loving husband, supporting his wife Judy through her breast cancer with unwavering devotion.
