Welcom Gene Wood

Welcom Gene Wood, born on December 19, 1957 to Homer Wood and Lorene Combs in Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away July 16, 2025.  Welcom attended Miller Grove and Rains schools.  He married Sandra Tadlock Wood and worked for the road and bridge department in Rains County as well as a butcher at Tawakoni Grocery.  Welcom enjoyed hunting fishing and was a true outdoorsman.  

Welcom is survived by his children, Wayne Kirkpatrick and wife, Tara, Johnny Wood, Amie Adams and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Kelton Adams, Trenton Adams, Ryleigh Kirkpatrick, Chasity Kirkpatrick, and Molly Kirkpatrick.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Wood; parents, Homer and Lorene Wood; grandson, Chris Pribble.

There will be a small gathering at 2pm for family and friends at Smyrna Cemetery.
