Douglas Wayne Dhane, born on September 3, 1959, in Dallas County, to Earl Douglas Dhane and Ima Jean Dennie, peacefully passed away on August 1, 2023, at his home surrounded by his immediate family. He was a loving husband, caring father, doting grandfather, and a dear friend to many. Douglas was known for his remarkable skills as a mechanic and his ability to fix practically anything that came his way. His love for working on lawn mowers was unparalleled.

Throughout his life, Douglas cherished various hobbies and interests, but attending car races and dirt track racing held a special place in his heart. The excitement and thrill of the speedway brought him immeasurable joy and unforgettable memories. Additionally, he found solace in fishing trips and camping adventures with his beloved family.

Douglas possessed a heartwarming personality that impacted everyone he met. He never knew a stranger; his warm smile and kind nature made people around him feel like they were part of one big family. Douglas treated each person he encountered with love and respect, reflecting an unwavering kindness that touched the lives of many, especially his dog Jake.

In addition to being an outstanding mechanic and avid lover of races, Douglas had a mischievous side which was fully embodied by his proudest accomplishment - "aggravating the grandkids." Through playful antics and endless jokes, he shared countless moments of laughter with those closest to him. His ability to bring happiness into the lives of others truly showcased the essence of his character.

Although Wayne has left us physically, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him best - his loving family, loyal friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. He will be deeply missed but always remembered as a pillar of strength and kindness within our community.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Glenda Dedmon-Dhane; sons, Clayton Dhane, Jonathan Rhodes, Micheal and Vicki Dozier, Judson and Amber Dozier; daughter, Melissa and Fabian Smith; grandsons, Dakota Dhane, Konner Rhodes, Judson and Amber Dozier; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Dhane, Heaven Rhodes, Cambree Rhodes, Madison Rhodes and Lyar Ray.  And many more that he called great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Sisters, Sherry Crutchfield, Belinda Jones, Sandra Whathey-Record and Sheila Dhane York.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Douglas Dhane and Ima Jean Dennie; sisters, Connie and Carla; aunt, Jeanna Dhane; uncles, GW Dhane and CL Dhane.

As we bid farewell to Douglas Wayne Dhane today, let us celebrate the incredible life he lived - a life full of love, laughter, and the joy of fixing things.
