Sally Jean Turner was born on December 9, 1948, in Iola, Kansas. She graduated from King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1966 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin.

After college, Sally served two years in the U.S. Navy as a nurse. She then dedicated her career to geriatric nursing, eventually serving as Director of Nursing for multiple long-term care facilities. Known as a compassionate leader and tireless advocate for both patients and staff, Sally devoted her life to caring for others.

Sally was known for her joyful smile, positive demeanor, and selfless, genuine spirit. She was a compassionate presence in her community and a devoted member of her church. Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Sally found joy in gardening, raising her many chickens, and spending time with her family. She was especially active in her grandchildren’s lives and could always be found cheering them on at their many activities.

She is survived by her sister, Sue Dean (Sumner Dean);

Her children, Brian Turner (Kristy Turner), Lorie Gaffney (Damon Gaffney), Ryan Morrison (Shelby Morrison), Mark Morrison (Laura Morrison), and Julie Elmore (David Elmore);

Her grandchildren, Alisha Williams, Sarah Williams, Noah Morrison, Matthew Morrison, Luke Morrison, Casey Morrison, Caleb Morrison, Klara Turner, Olivia Elmore, Anna Grace Elmore, and Benjamin Elmore;

And her great-grandchildren, Gabriel Taylor and Myles Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her brother Tom Lewis and her husband, Rick Turner. They married on March 23, 1991, and shared 27 wonderful years together, during which their families became one.
