A memorial service for Oscar Ely, Jr., will be held Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at 2:00 pm, in the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.
Bro. Jason Rolen will officiate. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, one prior to service time.
Mr. Ely was born in Houston, on Jan. 30, 1934, to Oscar and Rosie Ann Wofford Ely.
He served his country as a U.S. Marine.
During his working career, he worked as an electrician for several different companies.
Survivors include:
Wife: Linda Ely of Emory
Sons: Johnny Ely, (Nelda) of Emory; and Christopher Ely (Jennifer) of Emory
Grandchildren: Johnny Jr., Brandi, Christopher, and Bryton
Great-granddaughter: Elli
Step-Mother: Catherine Ely
