Nophaie was born on December 16, 1956, to Nophaie James Long Sr and Alfa Darlene Broughs in Oakland, California. He passed on December 16, 2022, at his home in Emory, Texas. His Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Nophaie married Judy Long on May 22, 1999, in Rockwall, Texas. He was an electrician by trade. He loved fishing, working in the workshop, working in the yard and was known for helping people. He is a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Glenda (Glenna) Sue Long Spruill; son, Nophaie James Long III; grandchildren, Jocelyn Rayne Spruill, and Beckham Christopher Jay Spruill; brother, William Lewis Long.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Debbie Campbell and Sheila Arlene Long.
