Melvin Hays

Melvin Ray Hays, age 81, of Point, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs.
He was born in Point, July 28, 1934, to William Thomas and Vessie Nina Shepherd Hays.
He married Annette Louise Jones in Mesquite on Aug. 12, 1972...They shared almost 44 years of marriage.
He was self-employed as a back-hoe operator.
Survivors include:
Wife, Annette Hays of Point; daughters, Melanie Lemons (Larry) of Lone Oak, and Sherry Malone of Lone Oak; grandchildren, Braxton Burns, Dillin Moore, Kaleb Moore, and Natalee Burns
Numerous other loving family and friends;
Preceded in death by: parents; son-in-law, Jess E. Malone; brothers, Ernest Hays, Hubert Hays, Tommy Hays, and J.D. Hays; and sisters, Emma Ruth Hays and Mary Lou Groves
