Maxine Gaby Foster was born March 29, 1933, in Emory, Texas to Thomas Nelson Gaby and Georgia Ruth Jones Gaby. There will be a graveside service for her Friday, 2:00, June 12, 2026 at Emory City Cemetery. Jonathan Criswell will be officiating and serving as pallbearers will be Chad Simmons, Caleb Simmons, Dawayne Arbour, John Michael Hill, Billy Hill, Randy Warren and Michael Stafford as honorary pallbearer.

In 1950, Maxine graduated from Emory High School and then married Melvin Lynn Foster August 5, 1950 in Rooser, Texas. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Melvin Foster at Emory City Cemetery. Maxine was a member of the Assembly of Yahvah and loved her Savior. She worked at Continental Trailway and Collins Radio in Dallas, Texas. Maxine moved to Emory in late 60’s and worked for Good Samaritan unclaimed freight.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruth Gaby; husband, Melvin Foster; sons, Pat Foster, Michael Foster; daughter, Rhonda Simmons; grandsons, Derek and Jarrod Tanton; great-granddaughter, Lacy Hill; brothers, Don Gaby, Lloyd Gaby, Jimmy Gunter; niece, Elizabeth Gail Gaby.

Maxine is survived by daughter, Susan Foster; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Foster; son-in-law, Roy Simmons; sister, Ann Daugherty and Nolan; brother, Charles Gaby; grandchildren, Chad Simmons, Phillip Smith, Gay and Tony Hill, Patrica Patrick, Kimber and David Combs; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
