Obituary

Leonard J. Rusciani, born October 6, 1965, passed away on September 11, 2026.

Leonard or better known as Lenny will be remembered as a loving and proud man whose life was rooted in devotion to the people around him. He was generous with his time, kind in spirit, and the sort of person who could fix just about anything. To many, he was a true “McGyver,” someone who met life’s problems with steady hands, creativity, and a willingness to help. His presence brought comfort, dependability, and warmth to those who knew him.

He was a master well-driller, a trade that reflected both his skill and his strong work ethic. Beyond his work, Lenny gave his energy to the things he cared about deeply. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and sang with the St. Johns Choir. He also taught children’s choir and CCD at his home Parrish in New Jersey, sharing his time and encouragement with young voices and helping guide them with patience and heart.

Lenny embraced life with enthusiasm and generosity. He loved to cook, and he was exceptionally good at it. For him, food was one more way to care for others, and he always made sure everyone was fed and happy. He was also an incredible musician, singing, playing guitar, piano and trombone. He coached football, practiced karate, and had a special love for his dogs, even making food for them as well. These everyday acts of care and involvement reflected the kind of man he was thoughtful, active, and always looking for ways to give of himself. He established life-long friendships that echoed across generations.

Above all, Lenny’s proudest accomplishment was his family, especially his wife, Rosalyn, and the life they built together. They were married on September 11, 1987 and spent 39 wonderful years together. Their bond stood at the center of his life and was a source of deep pride and love. His friends were also a big part of his life, and the friendships he cherished added joy, laughter, and meaning to his days. He loved being a PopPop, showing his grandkids his farm and “honey flowers”. They loved him fiercely.

Lenny leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and generosity. He will be remembered for the meals he prepared, the songs he shared, the guidance he offered, the problems he solved, and the many ways he made others feel cared for. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalyn; children, Nat Rusciani, Jenny Paredes and Dante, Lenny Rusciani III and Melissa, Danny Rusciani; grandchildren, D.J. Paredes, Helo Paredes, Kairi Paredes, Melody Paredes; siblings, Rose Rusciani, Linda Heath, Lisa Tushla; nephews, Zach Tushla. Billy Heath and Stephen Heath Jr. He is survived by many friends, family and others that loved him so.
