Larry Lee Boettcher, affectionately known as Ike or Boe, passed away on February 3, 2026, in Steamboat Shores, at the age of 77. Born on June 24, 1948, Larry spent most of his life as a dedicated mechanic, earning a reputation as a jack of all trades who could fix just about anything that came his way. His hands were stained with oil, but his heart was always full of kindness, helping those in need without hesitation.
Larry had a warmth and humor to him; he was goofy and a stranger to no one, reaching out to everyone with a smile and a friendly word. His legacy will be marked by the lives he touched with his compassionate spirit and unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand.
In addition to his impressive skills as a mechanic, Larry proudly served his country in the Navy, embodying a sense of duty and commitment that carried into every facet of his life. He embraced the great outdoors wholeheartedly, finding joy in fishing and riding his motorcycles.
Larry's proudest accomplishments revolve around the relationships he fostered through his kindness and readiness to help. He believed that if he could help you, he would.
He is survived by his children, Frank Boettcher, Larry Boettcher Jr., Tammy Staples; siblings, Garland and Cathie Bartling of Sorrento, Floridia, Sandra Pesek of Ord, Nebraska, Sharon Noah of Ord, Nebraska, Gene Boettcher of Lincoln Nebraska, Jayne Barth of Fremont Nebraska. As well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elaine Boettcher; brother Jermoe Boettcher and one infant son.
Though he has departed this world, Larry Lee Boettcher's spirit of generosity and laughter will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness that serves as a reminder of the impact one individual can have on their community.
