Obituary

Judy C. Carson, a remarkable woman whose warmth and strength touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 21, 1953, Judy lived a life marked by tenacity, love, and an unyielding spirit that left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

From her early days in Rains County, where she attended school, Judy embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. Her working life was as varied as it was impressive; she was a woman who truly could do anything. Whether behind the wheel as a truck driver, at the assembly lines of TI, serving customers at Safeway, managing a busy office as a secretary, or providing care through house cleaning, Judy took pride in her work and met each challenge with determination.

One of the cherished memories many hold dear is Judy’s time as a dispatcher at a trucking company, where she not only excelled but also showed a deep dedication to her family. On Fridays, her boss would kindly let her off early so she could take Ashley and her bosses son to the movies—a testament to the priority she always placed on being present for her children. Judy was unwavering in her support, always there, always showing up when it mattered most.

Her personality shone brightly—beautiful inside and out, witty, and endlessly full of love. She was known for her fun-loving spirit and her captivating storytelling, which could bring joy and laughter to any room. Those lucky enough to taste her homemade fudge remember it as the best—a sweet symbol of the warmth and care she shared so generously. Judy also had a passion for reading her Bible, finding strength and solace in its pages, and was a huge fan of watching "The Walking Dead" with her grandson, sharing moments of entertainment and bonding.

Among Judy’s proudest accomplishments were her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who stood by her side as a living testament to her enduring love and guidance. Her ability to build not only a strong family but also a closet she crafted herself revealed her blend of practicality and creativity, always willing to build and nurture whatever was needed.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Julie Klutts (Steve Bannister) of Quitman, Texas, Ashley Carson of Emory, Texas; siblings, Clarence Roberts of Point, Donna Strebeck of Emory, Johnny Roberts and wife Elaine of Rowlette, Betty Morrow and husband Merel of Emory, Shirley Gavin and husband Charles of Arkansas; grandchildren, Brittany Gillis, Dillon Rogers, Devin Rain Miller, Emberly May Miller; great-grandchildren, Layla Goodson, Dehlia Bednar, Williow Bednar, Atticus Bednar.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Burlin and Nelly Roberts; siblings, Eugene Roberts, Thelma Lee, Geneva, James (Doc), JR, Helen, Billy Wayne, Joyce, Harold Ray; great grandson, Brayden James Goodson; brothers-in-law, William Ray Strebeck, Bobby James Rogers and best friend, Sharron Walker.

Judy C. Carson’s life was a beautiful story of resilience, kindness, and unwavering devotion. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and heal. Her memory lives in the hearts of those who loved her and were lucky enough to call her family. Rest in peace, dear Judy—you were truly one of a kind.
