It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Wayne McDonald, who left this world on May 25, 2025, just days shy of his 86th birthday. Born on May 28, 1939, to Floyd and Roewena McDonald (Blakey) in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jerry dedicated his life to his family, career, and community as he was a member of the Lake Fork Baptist Church since 1997 making a remarkable impact on the hearts of all who knew him.

Jerry was a proud veteran of the Air Force, owned McDonald electric and Lake Fork guide service. His passion first and foremost was Jesus Christ. He loved his rodeo days and his Colorado hunting trips. He loved golfing as well as his radio show KRLD 1080 and Fox news every Saturday and Sunday which resulted in clients as far as Japan. He could always be found cheering on his children and grandchildren's endeavors and supporting the youth programs "get hooked on fishing not drugs."

Those fortunate enough to know Jerry experienced his exceptional ability to engage others through storytelling. A natural jokester, he shared not only tales from his life but also made room for laughter, ensuring that everyone felt included. He was the kindest person, known for his big heart, and his presence was a gift to anyone who crossed his path.

Perhaps his proudest accomplishment was the life he built with his childhood sweetheart and best friend, Sue. Married at just 16, they shared 69 beautiful years together—an inspiring testament to enduring love and partnership. Their bond was a cornerstone of Jerry’s life, reflecting the depth of his character and the warmth of his heart.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Annette Sue McDonald; children, Cheryl and Bill Lowry, Kelley Burris; grandchildren, Keith Blue and wife, Kimberly, Randall Burris, Lee Burris, Lindsey Hemphill and husband, Deuce; great grandchildren, Gage Blue, Dane Suits, Knox Suits, Piercen Burris, Oaklee Burris, Keller Burris; brother, Pat McDonald. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, three sons and 2 brothers.

As we remember Jerry Wayne McDonald, let us celebrate the legacy of love, laughter, and kindness he leaves behind. He will be profoundly missed but cherished forever in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be profoundly missed but cherished forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
