Jerry Wayne Hampton, a beloved member of the community passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 43. Jerry will be remembered for his love and loyalty to family and friends, his sense of humor, outgoing and easy-going personality, and his dedication to work. Jerry was born on May 22, 1980, in Dallas, Texas. Jerry was cherished and loved by all who knew him.

 Jerry’s career spanned 19 years in the oil industry where he landed his dream position with Conoco Phillips as a drilling supervisor. He took great pride in his role as a company man and approached his career with professionalism and dedication. Prior to working in the oil industry Jerry served as a police officer demonstrating his unwavering commitment to upholding law and order within the community.

 Jerry served in the US Navy upon the USS Constellation in Coronado, California with immense pride.  He demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his country.  His military service exemplified his selflessness and dedication to protecting the freedoms that we hold dear.

Outside of work Jerry had a zest for life and enjoyed creating fond memories with his loved ones. Traveling and vacationing were among his favorite activities, as they allowed him to explore different places and cultures and show the world to his children. Jerry’s deep passion for sports was evident through his undying loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. He never missed a game and could often be found cheering passionately from the stands, or in front of the TV. He thoroughly enjoyed the football betting through his work and reveled in taking their money.

 Jerry was known for having an uplifting spirit and contagious smile that brought joy to everyone around him.  He maintained a positive attitude during stressful times and provided comfort, positivity, and strength with his constant perseverance for doing what was right in leading by example.

He possessed a supportive nature that made him a pillar of strength for his friends and family in times of need.  His humorous personality brightened countless lives, and he had a remarkable ability to find laughter even during challenging moments.  Above all else, Jerry’s caring nature and persistence were defining traits that endeared him to those who are fortunate enough to share their lives with him.

He survived by his wife, Paige Hampton of 22 years; children- Drake, Brenden, Ashlyn, and Tatum; parents- Shawn and Donna Shull, Rickey and Gina Dodson, and Paul and Diane Mason; siblings- Stacey Hampton, John Hampton and Brooke Dodson; and his best friend- Dewey Deville, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jerry Wayne Hampton will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  His infectious laughter and kind-hearted nature touched countless lives and will forever remain cherished memories in our hearts. May he rest in peace, knowing that he made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him, and all that knew him will forever miss him and hold him in their hearts.

A Visitation will be held on September 17, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Clarks Chapel Church of God in Point, Texas. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. The interment will then occur at Lone Star cemetery in Point, Texas following services.
