Funeral service for Hubert Ray Kirkpatrick, 81, of Emory, will be held
Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church #1, at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Bro. David Hendricks and Bro. Jeff Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Rains County.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Rains County, to Ennis Nolan and Lela Morrow Kirkpatrick.
He married Martha Nell Steed in Point, on
April 10, 1959. They enjoyed some 55 years of marriage.
For the most part of his life, he was a cattle rancher....the job he loved the best.
He loved the land, the lay of the land, seeing the cattle grazing across the hillside. All the aspects and responsibilities of farming and country life.
He loved his wife, and and his children... his love for his family was always the most important part of his life.
Survivors include: Wife: Martha Nell Kirkpatrick of Emory, 1 daughter, Jeanetta Stephens (Bob) of Emory; 1 son, Garry Ray Kirkpatrick (Luckey) of Emory;
2 Brothers, James Alton Kirkpatrick (Ann), and Gerald Dean Kirkpatrick (Donna), both of Emory;
3 Sisters: Pearl Haney Jones, Ruth Whitehead, and Delois Spence (Roy Lee) all of Emory; Grandchildren: Nicole Nickell (Ryan), Lucus Kirkpatrick (Ashley), and Shayla Kirkpatrick; Great-grandchildren, Donnalynn Rayleigh Kirkpatrick, and Rylie Rae Nickell
Numerous other loving family and friends
Preceded by: Parents; 1 son, Lennis Aaron Kirkpatrick in 1984; 4 brothers, Allen Dale Kirkpatrick, Earl Kirkpatrick, Nolan Kirkpatrick, and J.T. Kirkpatrick
