Glenda Rice

August 12, 1928 — August 9, 2016

Mrs. Glenda Rice passed away Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 9, 2016, at her residence in Emory with her family surrounding her. She was 87 years old.
She was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Caddo Mills to Frank Allen and Ira Eunice Johnson Glasscock.
After graduating from high school, she married Avon Rice, in Floyd on Aug. 7, 1948.
To this marriage was born two daughters.
She was a licensed cosmetologist and worked as a hair dresser for a few years.
After the birth of their first daughter, she became a stay-at-home- Mommy, dedicating her life to her husband, home, and of course her children. Her dedication was also given to her church. She was the wife of a deacon of the church for some 29 years.
Glenda was a longtime member of Emory Baptist Church.
She was the prayer warrior for her family and friends as well.
When a problem arose, children and/or grandchildren knew where to
go for that special touch from the Lord...and, that was through their
precious Mother and Grandmother, because she had a constant connection to Him all the time.
She was a delight to know and will be sorely missed by all.

Interment will follow the service at Memoryland Memorial Park, in Greenville, at 3:00 pm. There will not be a procession...everyone will travel on their own... and, meet at the cemetery. Interment will be in the Garden of Love....
