Dennis States

Dennis James States, 67, of Emory passed away March 22, 2014. Dennis was born on April 22, 1947, in Marion Center, PA. to James Lewis and Betty Virginia Wissinger States.

His memorial will be held 6 - 7 pm Thursday evening, March 27, 2014 at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will follow the memorial service from 7-8 pm.

Dennis served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a self-employed fishing guide. Dennis loved the outdoors and was a professional fisherman, but he also enjoyed hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends fishing and hunting and everywhere he went his faithful companion Gypsy was right by his side.

Daughters: Lisa States-Stowe and husband Dave of Washington, MO; and Becky States-Brooks of Bonham, TX

Son: James States and wife Megan of Denison, TX

Brothers: Bill States of Holley, New York; and Rick States of Tempe, AZ

Sister: Sheri States
