Debra "Debbie" Chapin, passed away on June 1, 2025, at her home in Point, Texas. Born on March 1, 1956, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Travis Booth and Ruby Moncrief, Debbie was a true embodiment of the spirit of the country, where she cultivated her lifelong love for farming and the simple joys of rural life.
As a true farm girl, Debbie found immense joy in raising calves, an endeavor that showcased her nurturing nature. She had an honest and truthful personality, radiating warmth and kindness in her interactions with others. Those who knew her cherished her genuine love for people and her dedication to helping them, qualities that made her a trusted friend and neighbor.
Debbie's interests were as diverse as her talents. She had a great passion for music, which resonated with her roots, and she delighted in watching wrestling and rodeos, where she often cheered for her son, Kerry. Traveling the rodeo scene with him brought her considerable pride and joy, and these experiences became cherished memories.
Debra Chapin leaves behind a legacy filled with love, respect, and a profound admiration for the beauty of life around her. She is survived by her son, Kerry Joe Bell; significant other, Carl Roden; father, Travis Booth; sister, Connie Smith; niece, Chesley Smith; aunt, Jessie Kuhl; step-dad, Joe B. Trumble; step-brothers, John Lee Trumble and Joseph Trumble. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Moncrief. Debbie would want to recognize her caregivers, Sherry Hunter and Leann Miller, nurses Jana Griffin, Wendy Scott, Sherry Clark, Jessica Bartlett, Kay Stinson; Aide, Kimberly and doctor, Annette Shelton.
Her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered for her vibrant personality and the mark she made in the hearts of all who crossed her path.
