Charles Wayne Rogers, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished community member, passed away peacefully at his home in Emory on June 10, 2026. Born on May 30, 1948, in Celeste, Texas, to Edwin Rogers and Rita Laveta Brimer, Charles led a life marked by dedication, humor, and a deep love for his family and the outdoors.

Charles was a proud veteran of the Army, having served in Vietnam with honor. Following his military service, he devoted many years to his career as a mechanic for the Dallas Independent School District, where he was renowned for his skill and diligence. Known as a hard worker with an exceptional talent for fixing things, Charles could often be found bringing old lawnmowers back to life, a testament to both his patience and expertise.

His enjoyment of life was evident in his love of hunting and fishing, pastimes that connected him deeply to nature and created lasting memories with those he loved. In recent times, Charles celebrated his last birthday with a visit to the casinos, a place that brought him plenty of joy.

However, what Charles was most proud of above all was his son Jimmy and his grandchildren, who were the heart of his life. Their accomplishments and happiness were his greatest source of pride and fulfillment.

Charles is survived by his son, Jimmy Wayne Rogers; grandson, Joshua Willis Rogers and Chole; great-grandson, Judson Rogers; step-granddaughter, Megan Thompson; girlfriend, Debra Clifton Fileck; cousin, Terry Brimer, Billy Brimer, Buddy Brimer, Billy Lee Brimer.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Rita Rogers.

Those who knew him will carry forward his legacy of laughter, skill, and affection for family and friends alike. He leaves behind a world made better by his presence and a family forever grateful for the time they shared with him.
