Brandon Blake Smith

Brandon Blake Smith passed away on August 22, 2026, at the age of 31. Born on December 21, 1994, to Kyle Van Smith and Deborah Kay Jackson, Brandon was known by all who loved him as a kind-hearted, loving, and gentle soul.

Brandon graduated from Pave of East Texas, a milestone of which he was immensely proud. Achieving his high school diploma was a significant accomplishment for him, reflecting both his determination and his commitment to personal growth. Despite facing the challenges of being disabled, Brandon approached life with humor, creativity, and a quiet strength that inspired those around him.

Creative and artistic, Brandon expressed himself through his love for building things, tinkering, and exploring new ideas. He could often be found enjoying long walks in the woods, taking solace in the beauty of nature. His keen interest in video games highlighted his imaginative spirit and his appreciation for technology and interactive storytelling.

One of Brandon’s most remarkable qualities was his deep connection with animals. Friends and family would often say that he was an animal whisperer, and it was clear to everyone that he cherished the companionship of countless animals throughout his life. His home was a place of comfort and kindness, not only for people, but also for every creature that found its way to his door.

For those who knew Brandon best, his role as a caregiver for his father stands as a testament to his loving, giving nature. He dedicated himself to providing care and comfort, demonstrating enormous compassion and steady devotion. As a family member, a friend, and a caregiver, Brandon was quietly heroic, revealing his strength through everyday acts of kindness.

He is survived by his mother, Deborah Priddy and Gary; father, Kyle Smith; grandmother, Sandra Rose; sisters, Lacy Smith, Rebecca Watkins and Billy, and Amber Smith; uncle, Gary Jackson; nieces and nephew, Chloe Watkins, Hunter Watkins, Zelda Cox, and Sophie Cox.

He is preceded in death by his stepmother, Pamela Miller; grandfather, Ron Jackson.

Brandon’s warmth, wit, and gentle presence will be deeply missed. Though soft-spoken, his impact on those around him was profound. His legacy is one of love, humor, and gentle artistry—a reminder of the beauty found in small moments and simple joys.

The memory of Brandon Blake Smith will be cherished always by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
