Bobby Joe Kile, a devoted servant and longtime resident of Rains County, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 21, 2026, at his home in Emory, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 5, 1944, at the family farm in Rains County to Samuel Laroe Kile and Dorothy Lucille Gray Kile, Bobby Joe lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a servant’s heart.
His faith played a central role in his life. Bobby Joe was a proud member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. It was there that he was saved and baptized in May 1960, a milestone that deeply shaped his spiritual journey. On March 23, 1983, he was honored to become a deacon of the church, a role that exemplified his selfless spirit and dedication to his community. Those who truly knew Bobby Joe understood that his heart was generous and caring. He had a servant’s heart and was always ready to put the needs of others before his own.
On April 16, 1965, Bobby married the love of his life, Joan Martin, in Rains County. Their 61 years together were filled with love, partnership, and countless moments building a life full of memories. Together they raised two children, Sidney and Amy, who were his pride and joy. He went on to be an active and loving Pepaw, always being there for his grandkids.
From a young age, Bobby Joe knew the value of hard work and loyalty. He began his career with the Texas Department of Transportation after finishing high school. Starting as the low man on the totem pole, he steadily worked his way up to become the maintenance supervisor by the time he retired. His commitment to serving others extended beyond his career was also active in supporting the Rains County Good Samaritan, always ready to lend a helping hand where it was needed most.
He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting and fishing, spending time outdoors connecting with nature. Gardening brought him peace, and woodworking allowed him to create with his hands, reflecting the quiet strength and care he carried within.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Joan Kile; children, Sidney Kile and Susan, Amy Stinson and Eric; grandchildren, Kaitlin Kile and Jace, Samuel Edwards and Trinity, Matthew Edwards and Kelsi; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert Kile, Ronnie Kile and Suzy; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Laroe and Dorothy Lucille Kile.
Bobby Joe Kile leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of service, faith, and love. Though he has gone from this world, the kindness and dedication he showed to his family, church, and community will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
