Bob Hoshor, a man whose life was marked by kindness, humor, and an enduring generosity, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Born on December 11, 1940 in Albuquerque New, Mexico, to Robert and Ethel Hoshor. Bob lived a full and vibrant life that was centered around his faith and belief in Jesus Christ. He was a proud member of Freedom Church of God in Emory, Texas.
Bob’s career path was as unique as his personality. He spent much of his working years as a truck driver, skillfully navigating the highways behind the wheel of massive 18-wheelers. Later, he took on the solemn role of a gravedigger, a job that reflected his quiet respect for life and those who had passed. Beyond his work, Bob was known for his warmth and genuine interest in others, traits that made him a beloved figure wherever life took him.
One of the most cherished chapters of Bob’s life began when he met the love of his life, Mrs. Linda, through a computer match. Together, they shared 56 years of partnership filled with love and mutual respect. Though they never had biological children, Bob embraced his role as a stepfather wholeheartedly, loving and raising his stepchildren as his own, a testament to his generous and caring nature.
Bob’s love for life extended to the simple joys and hobbies that brought him happiness. He was an avid enthusiast of estate sales and garage sales, finding treasures and stories in every corner. But perhaps most famously, Bob loved food. His enthusiasm for eating knew no bounds—from his fondness for fried chicken to his mother’s beloved coconut cream pie. In fact, one of his favorite pastimes was visiting Las Vegas not for the casinos, but for the endless joy of all-you-can-eat buffets.
Those who knew Bob well remember a man who never met a stranger. His natural friendliness and curiosity led him to ask about people’s dogs and hobbies, creating connections wherever he went. He was proud of his role as a landlord, always ensuring his tenants were cared for and never left wanting, reflecting the same generosity and kindness he showed in all areas of his life.
Bob Hoshor leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and a life lived with warmth and joy. His spirit will be remembered fondly by those who loved him—the love of his life, Linda, and the stepchildren he embraced so fully. In every laugh, every shared meal, and every heartfelt conversation, Bob’s presence will continue to be felt.
