Rebecca “Becky” Hand Dennis
8/5/1944 – 11/2/2022
Rebecca (Becky) Hand Dennis was born August 5, 1944, to Clarence C Hand and Mary Katherine Hand in Terrell Texas and passed away peacefully at home in Emory Texas on November 2, 2022.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lawson Eugene Dennis (Gene) and three sons: David (Debbie) of Mesquite, TX, Greg (Judy) of Denton, TX and Steve (Cheryl) of Greenville, TX. Seven grandchildren: Amber Dennis, Crell Dennis, Lisa Higginbotham, Lance Dennis, Tyler Dennis, Riley Ilaoa, Paisley Dennis and nine great grandchildren. Becky is also survived by her sister, Mary Parker (Bobby) of Wills Point, Tx and sister-in-law, Teresa (Sissy) of Graham, TX and several nieces and nephews.
Becky and Gene were married September 8, 1962, and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She became an R.N. and retired in 2012 to enjoy life with Gene at their home on Lake Fork where they enjoyed fishing and spending time with their family. Becky loved to crappie fish, play Bingo and the slot machines and cruising. She was lucky to have long lasting friendships and enjoyed her time with them after retirement. We will always treasure the memories we have of “Granny” and will keep her memory alive for generations to come.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Hand, her brother, Carl Edward Hand, niece Lisa and nephew Mark.
The family would like to thank these friends for being by her side in her last days: Bobbi Sue, Linda, Margie, and Sharon. They would also like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Christus Mother Frances in Tyler and the Hospice of East Texas for their care the last few weeks.
