Obituary

Barbara Parker, whose warm spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many, passed away on March 22, 2026. Born on August 15, 1944, Barbara was truly one of a kind. She was known for her strong will, love for her family and friends that made everyone around her feel cherished.

Barbara’s journey began with her graduating from beauty school in the, early seventies, embarking on a career as a hairdresser where she not only styled hair but also crafted moments of joy and confidence for her clients. Her passion for her craft was evident in the care she took with each appointment and the friendships she fostered along the way.

Beyond her professional life, Barbara found delight in simpler pleasures. She loved tackling crosswords puzzles, always eager to challenge her mind. She was an avid fan of Wheel of Fortune, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys, finding fun and joy in the games. Barbara’s love for animals was well known: she took great joy in feeding the squirrels and the many birds around her home, especially the humming birds and dove. Feeding dear and fishing was another of her beloved pastimes, providing her with calm and a sense of connection to nature.

But above all else, Barbara’s proudest accomplishment was her family. Raising five children was a labor of love that defined her life and gave her immense pride. She dedicated herself to nurturing her family with the same kindness and affection that she shared generously with others.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Jed M. Hampton, Hazel Marie Hampton, Paul Stanley Langel and her son, Kevin Lee Parker.

Barbara is survived by her children, Theresa Ann Roach (Herbie), Tammye Renee Mayfield, Stephen Ray Jenkins, Keith Gabriel Parker; siblings, Helen Streety, Billie Darlene Hampton, Don Hampton; grandchildren, Christie Blaine (Don), Marcus Vaughn (Dawn), Nick Mayfield, Melissa Gonzales (Joel), Amanda Mckinney (Chris), Michael Jenkins, Jayce Parker, Timothy Parker; great-grandchildren, Victoria Tolliver (Taylor Rogers), John Vaughn, Rilee Mayfield, Travis Mayfield, Benjamin Gonzales, Elaina Gonzales, Dakota Jenkins, Kayla Jenkins, Sara Landrum, and Tyler Landrum.

Barbara Parker’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and a profound appreciation for the world around her. She leaves behind a beautiful example of what it means to live fully and care deeply. Though she may no longer be with us, her warmth and spirit will forever illuminate the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
