Alton lived on his own terms with a generous heart, a strong spirit, and appreciation for the simple things that brought him joy.

A funeral service for Alton “Al” Paul Wilson will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 11 AM at Wilson-Orwosky Chapel in Emory, Texas with DJ Parr officiating. Interment will follow at Ables Springs Cemetery in Terrell, Texas. Pallbearers will be Terry Porter, Jay Miller, Dakota Parish, Blake Hall, OG Bobby Cagle and Big Dav Adams, with honorary pallbearers, Rooster, Spanky and Monty Skaggs.

Alton Paul “Big Al” Wilson, 68, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Born on September 26, 1957, in Kaufman, Texas, to JC and Ann Wilson, Alton lived on his own terms with a generous heart, a strong spirit, and appreciation for the simple things that brought him joy.

Alton was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his four daughters, Amy Lehrman and her husband, Robert, and daughter, Macy Wilson; Angel Weber and her husband, Mike, and children, Jeremy, Sierra, and Lacy Rogers; Jessica Wilson and her sons, Rylan and River Wilson; and Laney Romines, her husband, Tyler, and their daughter, Adeline Romines. He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Kathi Anderson, his brothers, Jimmy Wilson and wife, Judy, and Bobby Wilson and wife, Dorothy, and great grandchildren, Anakin, Maggie, and Veronica. Nieces and nephews include Chuck, Chad, Bo, and Bradlea Wilson, Kristina Fisher, and Stanley Kvapil. He was preceded in death by his father, JC Wilson; mother, Ann Wilson; sister, Vicki Kvapil; niece, Racheal Kvapil; and grandson, Cody Weber.

Anyone who knew Alton understood his passion for adventure and the open road.

Anyone who knew Alton understood his passion for adventure and the open road. He was an avid gun collector and Master Mason who loved traveling, hunting, mudding, camping, and most of all, riding his Harley! He was an active member of The Dorsai motorcycle club and spent many years riding with Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) as “Big Owl”, establishing a local chapter in the early 2000’s that continues to support some of our community’s most vulnerable today.

More than anything, Alton treasured time spent with family and friends. Whether sharing stories, making people laugh, or just sitting together over a steaming cup of stout black coffee, those simple moments were the ones he cherished most. His memory will live on through the lives he touched, the stories that will continue to be told, and the love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege to know him.
